Let’s talk about instincts.🫦
Real Instincts.
I’m not talking about
genetics,
horoscopes,
or
anything
outside of myself.
I’m talking about
me trusting me.
That inner voice.
That gut feeling.
The subtle
~ or sometimes
not so subtle
nudges
I get
when something’s
off.
It wasn’t always like this.
For years,
I doubted myself.
I’d second-guess everything
and
ignore that little tug
in the back
of my
mind.
But
the more
life threw at me,
the more I started to see
a pattern.
My doubts
weren’t about
my ability or capability.
They weren’t proof
that I was
wrong
or
unworthy.
My doubts
were
actually
my instincts,
trying to get my attention.
When something didn’t feel right,
it wasn’t random.
My instincts
were sending me a message:
This isn’t for you.
Signals Aren’t Random
Now,
don’t get me wrong
~ signals can get messy.
I’ve definitely
misinterpreted things before.
But
you know
what I’ve realized?
The message is never wrong.
The problem
is how
I interpret it.
Let me give you an example.
A while back,
I had a chance
to take on a project
that looked perfect
on paper.
It came with a lot of praise,
the potential
for great money,
and it
really seemed like a
once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity.
But
something
about it
didn’t sit right
with me.
At first,
I chalked it up to nerves.
I told myself
I’d be crazy to pass it up.
But the uneasiness didn’t go away.
Every time
I sat down
to commit to it,
I felt restless
~ like I was forcing myself
into something
that didn’t fit.
Turns
out,
I was right.
A few weeks later,
the company
behind the project
made some shady moves
that would’ve
dragged
me
into a mess
I couldn’t afford to be in.
If I’d ignored that gut feeling,
I would’ve been stuck
cleaning up
their mistakes.
My instincts
were screaming
no
for a reason.
That experience
was a turning point for me.
It reminded me
that when my instincts
are telling me
something:
I need to listen ~
even if I don’t
fully understand
why
at first.
Learn to Listen
When
my mind is restless,
or my body feels uneasy,
it’s usually because
there’s something
I need to pay attention to.
Maybe
it’s that a decision
I’m making
doesn’t align with who I am.
Maybe
it’s a relationship
or
situation
that’s not serving me.
Whatever it is,
my instincts know
before
I do.
The challenge?
Slowing down
long enough
to ask
myself:
• What is my body or mind trying to tell me?
• Why does this feel off?
• What am I subconsciously reminding myself of right now?
That’s where the real work is
~ learning to listen,
instead of brushing it off
as
fear,
insecurity,
or
overthinking.
The more
I’ve done this,
the more I’ve realized
my instincts
aren’t out
to confuse
or sabotage me.
They’re here to help guide me.
They’re little
breadcrumbs of wisdom,
straight from my own
experiences,
values,
and
truth.
Trust Yourself
So,
All I’m Sayin’ Is…🫦
trust
your
instincts.
Get to know yourself better.
Pay attention
to those internal messages
~ they’re not random.
They’re you,
looking out for you.
Maybe,
just maybe,
you’ll start trusting yourself more.
And,
All I’m Sayin’ Is…🫦
And isn’t that worth it?
