Be a Grandmother

So many women my age

(I will be 50 years old in a few months)

and older,

view aging as a terrible thing.

If you talk about aging,

or being old

it's quickly hushed and whipered about

like you have mentioned

some superstitious uttering that will somehow cause

your immediate demise

once spoken.

I understand it's scary.

The fear of what comes after old age,

but death

can come even in youth.

Aging

is the only visible sign

to others

of how long

we have been on this earth.

Being on this earth,

surviving on this planet as woman

~ well, I think that it's something to be proud of.

So wear your age with pride ladies.

Take care of health,

so that you may endure a long time

and so that everyone can see how beautifully

strength ages in us.
